Ganesh Himal Trading carries a colorful
selection of hand knit sweaters, hats, gloves,
mittens and socks. The wool is a soft, high
quality blend with long fibers for strength,
warmth and durability. We also carry a line of
hemp knitwear using a 50/50 hemp/wool
blend. This blend creates soft heathery tones
that compliment the brighter tones of our all
wool knitwear. Our other knitwear includes recycled
silk and banana fiber.

Four different groups of knitters produce
Ganesh Himal's beautiful knitwear. Each group
is fairly paid and creates products that differ in
color and style. We have worked with many of
these knitters since the 1980's when they were
first learning to knit. Now many are master
knitters teaching others to knit. Some now are
reaching out to help widowed women from
Nepal's civil war learn to knit so they can earn
much needed income.
